even if you are not from australia, please write an email to say that you will boycott australia until they ban live exports! this is so important!
there is alot of coverage in the press right now so this could be the final nail in the coffin !!!!
please spare two or three minutes in helping the animals.
ANIMAL LIBERATION QLD - ACTION ALERT
Again it was shown on the Sixty Minutes programe last night the Federal Agricultural Minister Mr Warren Truss's total lack of any understanding or compassion for the plight of the sheep on board the Cormo Express. Again he must be shown by the Australian people what we want to have happen here. These animals must be helped!!!!! The idea that they can just sail around the Middle East until a buyer is found is ludicrous. Now they are talking about Pakistan as a possible buyer - where will it all end. It has been reported in today's Courier Mail in Brisbane that the fodder on board the Cormo Express will run out later today what happens now?
If the sheep on board the Cormo Express are to suffered such extreme cruelty from heat, lack of food, ventilation, over crowding and blatant cruelty then let it mean something. Make their suffering the final nail in the coffin of the live export of animals from Australia.
Everyone please send an email, a letter or a fax to the addresses listed below and let them know what you think of the live export animals and the fact it must be stopped NOW. Write letters to your newspapers, call your local radio talkshow, visit your federal member and ask what action are they prepared to take to see the end of this vile trade.
Listed below are the relevant addresses and please send us a copy of any replies you receive.

I'm going to boycott my own country..... no more Vegemite! No more Fosters!
Oh... wait; they're American products.
But seriously, it's disgusting what is going on. I despise this government.

To whom it may concern,
I am writing to express my concern and disgust at the recent incident on the Cormo Express which involved a number of live exports dead.
The sheep on board the Cormo Express suffered such extreme cruelty from heat, lack of food, ventilation, over crowding and blatant cruelty.
I do not think that this kind of behaviour is acceptable, and I also feel that it gives a bad name to the already tarnished Australia.
No one should have to put up with that kind of torture before they die, not even animals. And just because they aren't human doesn't mean they aren't entitled to just a little compassion.
I feel all live exports should be banned, to prevent a sittuation like this occuring in the future. As many instances like this go on, but few are televised. It isn't right to just sail around the middle east with LIVE stock on board until they find a buyer. Not only is it inhumane, but it also can result in the animals getting diseased, dieing, and so on. Which inturn creates a loss of revenue.
Yours faithfully
Danny Kass
Well that's the email I sent.. It's not very good.. But still...
It's so strange I feel weird about signing my own name to anything over the internet (That's obviously not my real name... ) Heh and then it's funny when people reply "Dear Danny"
Heh.. it's the small things that amuse me!

A lot of these exports are going to Israel, so we had a demostration here a few weeks ago. Videos from the exports got to the news, and I hope it made more people think about the subject.
Here's a picture from the demonstration:

What are these animals being used for, I wonder, when they get to wherever it is they might end up? Can there possibly be any reason other than money to pack large numbers of animals onto a boat with no set destination in mind? They're dessssssspicable! :grr:
but seriously

Danny I hope you don't mind that I "borrowed" a couple of lines from your letter. It was good. Here's mine:
Inhumane, selfish, unconscionable are just three of the many words that describe the current practices of live animal export your country currently takes part in.
I will personally boycott and promote the boycott of all products and services that originate in Austrailia until the situation is rectified.
The sheep on board the Cormo Express suffered such extreme cruelty from heat, lack of food, ventilation, over crowding and blatant cruelty.
I do not think that this kind of behaviour is acceptable, nor in fact necessary. I also feel that it gives a bad name to the already tarnished Australia.
Do both the animals and your country a great service and stop live export. Your country has so much more to offer to the world than death and cruelty.

I believe the animals that stay alive during the export end their lives as meat :(

yes, the sheep are meat sheep.
to my knowledge, they are not slaughtered in australia because of the religious way of slaughter that they do, i think it is HALAL.
the thing is, in australia it is very multi cultural and we have registered HALAL slaughterhouses that kill the animals in this religious way so these animals *could* be spared this horrendous journey by being slaughtered in australia. :grr:
i thank everyone who is writing in to these people. we must let them know that the WHOLE world disagrees with what they are doing and live exports must stop!
that demo in isreal is awesome to see. thanks for posting about that neta. great photo!
(of course, no slaughter should happen at all, no matter where OR how!)
