I went to EarthFare today and found a name brand I have never seen before: It's All Good. They have about 7 products, mostly chicken-style meat substitutes. All their products appear to be vegan. So, I thought I'd buy a couple of them. They cost $4.50 per package. The other one I got (and haven't eaten yet) is their Santa Fe Style that is stuffed with black beans and corn. It comes smothered in tomato/red pepper sauce. I'll come back here and tell you what I think of it when I try it.
The Veggie Pulled Chicken is similar to BBQ, so I put it in a bun. It comes in a BBQ sauce. The package is enough for two sandwiches. The texture is good. It was similar enough to chicken to be tasty, but not too realistic to cause me to get disgusted. The BBQ sauce was bland. Very bland. This is the biggest shortcoming. The sandwich had all the qualities of a good chicken-style meal, but it really lacked the flavor. For my next sandwich, I think I'll throw in some Annies BBQ sauce to help it out.
For the money, I think Lifelight's BBQ is better. But if you prefer chicken or a milder taste than Lifelight, then you may like this product.

It LOOKS delicious. Is Lifelight the one that comes in that pouch? I didn't care for the texture of that at all. I would definitely try this if I can find it anywhere around me.

Thanks for posting. I was planning on going to Whole Foods to see if they were carrying the pulled chick'n since I love BBQ.
I've tried and liked the veggie "beef" skewers with chipotle BBQ sauce (although they were bland, too; adding some sauce or seasoning helps) and have the chick'n with black beans and corn in the fridge, waiting to be tried, so I was thinking the BBQ chick'n might be good, too.
I love Light Life's Smart BBQ. So good. I think maybe I'll just stick with it since it needs no improvements to be delicius.

LightLife is the brand that makes Smart BBQ in the pouch, yeah. I LOVE it, but in every pouch there's always a big giant clump of it that is just chewy and gross and ends up hurting my teeth somehow. I'll go through periods where I want a pouch a day, and then I can't eat it for 3 months or so.
That it's all good brand looks tasty, but that sucks that there's no flavor to the sauce.

I hate when I spend a good chunk of money on a prepared vegetarian product and I have to doctor it for it to be flavorful. Isn't that supposed to be the point of getting a prepared product (that you don't have to do any real preparation)?

For dinner tonight, I had spaghetti topped with their chicken fillets. I liked this a lot better than the pulled chicken. It's very healthy, too. Each fillet is only 160 calories and each has 26g of protein.
Specifically, this is the 2 Veggie Chick'n Breasts in a Tomato Tuscan Marinade.

I saw this brand at the store today. They must've just gotten them. After seeing your pic of the chicken filets I really wanted to get them but they were $5. I'm going to have to wait for them to be on sale. They look so good.
