I knew someone that made tofu with the chicken packet in ramen noodles (they weren't vegetarian) and I have fake chicken boullion cubes, do you think I could do it with that? I'm trying to figure out ways of cooking tofu other than marinating it in a soy sauce mixture and baking it.
I've read the oriental ramen packet is veg but I don't want the msg and I don't want to waste the noodles

I used to practically live on ram-fu when I was poor.
Ram-Fu:
One small package of firm tofu cut into dice.
One ramen packet
One veg stock cube
Handful of frozen peas
Black pepper
Read the packet and add the recommend amount of water to a saucepan and heat on the stove. Add the stock cube. Add the tofu cubes. Bring to a boil. Add the noodles discarding the flavouring packet. Add the peas. Remove from heat. Let sit for a few minutes. Add black pepper. Stir gently. Eat, preferably straight from the saucepan.

Ooh, that sounds good, MrFalafel!
I think I'm going to have to try it myself at some point. I've always liked ramen noodles and it's been ages since I had them since I liked the chicken ones and can't find vegan "chicken" ramen anywhere.

Read closely. Some brands of Oriental flavour ramen are veg*n friendly, others contain beef. There is also a Tomato flavour which is deceptive as it contains chicken fat. *blargh*
Mushroom ramen is safe, as far as I can tell though.

Cool, I've never seen mushroom ramen. My grocery doesn't even carry Oriental flavor...
I need to find a good veg boullion cube. The one I bought before was total crap.

I'm not sure where this rumor got started that Oriental Ramean is vegan, but it pretty clearly says "Beef fat" on the label.

How it tastes is all dependent on how hungry you are.... :p

I hate peas though, so I add some vegetables with a crunchy texture like carrots or broccoli instead.

I use a vegetable stock cube.
I fry some tofu and veg with some chopped red chilli and ginger, then add it to the noodles and stock. It makes an easy noodle soup dish.

This sounds awesome and like the answer to all my quick/lazy cooking days. I haven't been able to find veg stock cubes yet, though. Is there a particular brand you like?
