Hey guys,

Just sitting here thinking, we need to try to all go to Norman Music Festival together this year! I know a lot of us went last year anyway, but I think it'd be fun for us to all go and hang out together.

Who's interested?

If anyone's not read the lineup yet:

We are the only festival in the world that has a real live train drive through it every hour!

That last sentence makes me laugh.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Of Montreal! I've been listening to their stuff a bunch lately (they have MySpace) and I'm liking it.
Also looking forward to seeing Stardeath again. :)

So, let's talk!

^^NMF was so much fun last year, and I can't wait for this one. I like the stuff you've played from Of Montreal, I love the Starlight Mints, and Stardeath is always good to see. Walking around, getting to drink beer in the street, and the train just add to the fun.

I hope you all can come hang! I promise, we'll have so much fun! :pibo:

Looks like fun--and maybe like it might be a bit exhausting. That's a lot of music. I haven't even heard of most (any?) of those acts, but free live music is hard to beat.

I'll cross my fingers.

^^ You guys don't have to come for the WHOLE day :p

You could just come late afternoon-early evening-ish and hang out for the last part.

That's what we did last year; we wanted to see Chainsaw Kittens and got there just in time for the people w. dogs/ families w. strollers set to move out so we got a pretty good spot.

Angel and I like to worm up close to the stage and dance like idiots. We might be willing to forego that for togetherness w. our VB peoples. :)

So, Brandon and Angel, are you planning on going for the whole day?! That would definitely require some comfy shoes! (and sunscreen?)

Brandon

We were just talking about that last night. We'll probably go early-mid afternoon and stay to see Stardeath's set, then perhaps go grab some food and then come back for the rest of the evening.

I'm fine to miss the morning part, and that way the stroller and dog-walking set will be clearing out a bit.

Definitely want to worm up nice and close for Of Montreal. I know Angel's excited about seeing Starlight Mints too.

Excellent.

I think Eddie has pica. He won't stop eating paper. WTH?

Brandon
April 3rd, 2009, 01:09 PM
Weeeeird. Aspen and Arlo occasionally will shred paper, but they don't eat it to the best of my knowledge.

We were talking last night, maybe we can walk back to Thai Raja for food? It's not too bad of a walk.

Oliver Laurence likes to get into my trash can and pull out paper towels to shred. He once managed to pull a package down from my pantry closet and shred a roll. He can be so very sweet, and so very naughty. Trinity on the other hand, never shreds paper.

I like the idea of walking to Thai Raja for dinner. We can do so sometime after Stardeath, as long as I get to see Starlight Mints and Of Montreal, I'm happy.

Wow, I can't believe Hosty isn't in on this.

Yeah, unfortunately I can't spend the whole day there. I am way too white and I don't believe there's enough sunscreen in the world that would keep me from burning to a crisp. :worried:

Hey now! I only have one face! I want to take care of it, and not look like a football with hair by the time I'm 50.

What's a little thing like a sunburn when there's rock-n-roll to be had?

I mean, seriously.

Angelik

Oh don't worry! I'll be rockin' in the streets. I just didn't know if the plan was for being there all day. If so, cool I'm there.

We can get you a parisol and sun bonnet so you don't roast. :p

Hey Guys! Sorry, the insanity of school sucked me in for a few weeks! I have to work part of the day on Sat - but Micah and I would be up for going for dinner, esp since we've never had Thai Raja...let me know what the plans are :-)

Hehe, I just posted a reply to your other post about the same thing.

The tentative plan for now is Kelley, Angel & I are going to walk out from my place and hang out at NMF until Stardeath's set is over then walk back to Raja.
Stardeath goes on at 4:45, so I'm assuming their set will end 5:30-ish.

We can definitely coordinate so we can all go together.

Never had Thai Raja? It's yummy! :D

Ok, Oklahomanites It's almost time!!!

Saturday is the day for NMF 09! For everyone who can make it, let's try to find each other and hang out! Kelley, Angel & I are going en masse, so text or call one of us if you don't find us. As far as I know, the above mentioned plan for Thai Raja is still solid too.

Here's an event map, for anyone interested, along with (yet another) schedule of events:

Excited about the show, and seeing you guys!

If nothing else, we're going to try and make it to Thai Raja. Gotta eat and yummy food is good. :D We'll have to see how the day goes to see if we can actually make it to the festival.

I hope they are wrong.

Ok - what time are you guys going to go eat? We ordered a new bed and they are delivering it between 5-9 pm....WTF? On a Sat? I'm not sure what we are going to be able to do since we can't get any more info out of them about when they will show up!
If we CAN make it I will txt you Brandon and find out where everyone is!
