This recipe is suitable for a: vegetarian/vegan diet


Preparation Time: minutes
Serves:


Ingredients:

potatoes
chickpeas
tomatoes
red onions
cilantro
tamarind pulp
sugar
cumin
cayenne (optional)
salt
water (just a little)


Instructions:

simmer tamarind pulp in a little water with cumin, sugar and salt to taste. Cool.

boil the potatoes, then dice the potatoes, tomatoes, and onions, and toss with the chickpeas and cilantro.

Toss salad with the sauce and serve room temperature.

I tasted this an an Indian bazaar a few years ago, and the woman who made it told me how to do it. I crave it frequently!
