Hi,
I wanted to share this with everyone. There is a new searchable product database where you can check if a product is vegan or not. It's not just a list, but a database, so you can simply type in the name of the product, or part of it, or the name of the company that makes it, and they display whether it is vegan or not, ... if not.. they tell you why and how it was confirmed. Pretty cool! And they keep adding new products every day! Go to www.veganproductornot.com

Curious. Cheerios are listed as Vegan but I could have sworn that they used an animal-based vitamin D to the product. It seems that some products are listed from PETA's website, which I don't think has been updated or thoroughly vetted.

not to mention this:
Hodgson Mill Bread Mix Honey Whole Wheat

Of course the manufacture has this listed as vegan on their product list also! :grr:

Great idea, and good website name (kinda). But they have a long way to go. They definitely need to have a second source for confirmation, cause just listing Peta confirmed 2009 doesn't do it for me. Beyond just the confirmation, possibly the actual quotes from the source of the confirmation.
Also, I think it is just plain silly to have a database of something and not be able to at least access an ingredient list. If the webmaster will flush and continue this project I think it could become a great resource.

Hi Guys,
You're right. I looked at the Hodgson honey one you mentioned and then contacted them about it. They thanked me for letting them know and said they fixed it. Just checked and it seems fine..... they also said they were looking into the cherios issue. I wonder what they'll find!
