There's a lot of attention given to the problems of being the only veg*n in your family, and rightly so. But now I want to celebrate the benefits of it, few and small as they may be (and fairly petty compared to the good that will come about with an all veg*n world, but let's let that go for a sec :naughty: ).
I'll start: You don't have to share your veggie burgers or tofu with anyone, and you can drink straight out of the carton of soymilk!
i drink right from the carton as well ! i second that.

The good aspects of being the only veg*n?
Easy! I'm the cool one in the family :afro:

You're the only one bringing interesting and "exotic" dishes to lunchoens (in the case of the only veg*n in the work place as I am) and other such "BBQ" family gatherings.

I have an excuse to skip Thanksgiving. ;)
I'm all for drinking soy milk out of the carton, along with eating my refried beans, tofu, and hummus straight out of the container :lick:
Charity - Lol...less family get togethers  And not having to eat my grandma's nasty baking attempts :spew:

I would say drinking out the carton, but my husband has developed a taste for soymilk. :)
Everyone looks forward to what I will bring to (insert holiday or special occaision here)
I have the abililty to corrupt friends and family with my good eating habits
After everyone suffered a bout of food poisoning after eating contaminated chicken I was the only one who was well after the incident. :flush:

i drink right from the carton as well!
That's one really good reason! I also like not having to share my dinner. That way, if it's really good there's more for me  Oh and being the centre of attention has its perks too.

...always having an easy conversation topic when parents invite colleagues and their hot (did I mention HOT?) sons over for dinner
...not having to try my little brother's "food"
...getting to eat an entire bag of grapes because there's nothing else in the house to eat. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Having the satisfaction of introducing good vegan food to those who might not have ever tried it otherwise, and having them love it!

being the only vegan at my workplace, I find it in a weird way comforting that I cannot eat the junk food (donuts, cakes, etc.) that is always around. I feel some how that I escaped the world of dairy junk everytime its around.
and when I bring my vegan cheesecake to the next potluck, I'm not gonna tell em its vegan and see how it goes over. then play like the coffee switching commercials. "did you know you just ate vegan cheesecake?" hehehehehe.
XOXO
