Hiya,
Currantly I find it extremely awkward to order vegan shoes online and they always seem really expensive, so I am looking at some of the highstreet stores to see if there vegan. Peacocks seem to have alot of shoes and flat pumps that seem vegan, but i am not sure about the glues and didnt want to put my phone number in on the contact form :wall:. Does anybody know? Thanks!

I very much doubt if you'll get an answer as to what the glues in any high street shoes contain. They are likely to contain animal ingredients, but even if they don't the manufacturer will be very unlikely to know.
Peacocks, Primark, New Look and a lot of other high street fashion stores sell non leather shoes, a lot of vegans, myself included, consider these 'vegan' enough. If you want 110% vegan shoes you'll have to pay the premium and order them online.

Yeah same.
I look on the bottom and if theres no leather on the label (the hide shape) then thats good enough for me!
watch out for the shoe being plastic, but the inner sole being leather. newlook does that a lot

Yes New Look have got REALLY bad about leather lately. They used to do loads of non leather shoes, now so many seemingly non leather shoes have leather inners etc. :(

no company i've e-mailed about the glues in their shoes have been able to give me an answer i could trust, so as mentioned above, as long as there's no leather in it, i consider it close enough.
i do understand the predicament about buying vegan shoes online, they are expensive (and a lot of what i've seen isn't the most attractive at times).
it irks me that i love trainers but most of the companies whose trainers i used to wear make everything out of leather, a lot of the time synthetic material would have been just as suitable for the shoe, really annoys me. :grr:

the shoes were probably made by slave kids in a sweatshop thousands of miles away so who knows whats in them...
I think most shoes have glues made from animals in them, so unless you order specifically vegan ones (which are expensive, and not usually very fashionable from what i've seen) they leather free is the best you will get.
