REALLY? Why not? That's weird! Never heard of that... course, I've never been a coupon clipper really. It just encourages me to buy stuff I don't need :p Now, I'm good though, I'd only take ones I'd use.

Most of what I need I can get at Target for a fraction of the grocery store cost, so I don't go to regular stores anymore unless I need odd things for a recipe.

I have been a coupon junkie for as long as I can remember...my mom got me into it...and I took it soooo much further....I luv it...I take all the coupons out and use then with sales...I love freebies...I donate what I dont use to food pantries and homeless shelters....and to animal welfare and animal shelters....I am right there with ya...I go where the sale is...I heart target....its an awesome store...this week I did awesome at CVS...alot of what I needed was on clearence and I had coupons and walked out with six full GREEN bags of stuff for like 9 bucks...my cashier was in awe seriously...and that wasnt even my best one seriously...LOL...its sooo much fun to me...alot of my pals say coupons are for old people or not worth the time...well they save them for me and last week there was a free can of dog food coupon in the paper and I had 20 inserts and 20 cans were donated this week to the animal welfare...thats sooo worth it:):)

I dont remember who told me that about the coupon inserts it was years ago...but they said there wouldnt be any the week of or around a holiday.

Thanx for listening...I could talk about Coupons forever:)

Does Target sell food? I don't even recall going into a Target store anytime recently so I don't know much about the store.

WOW!!! I'm following your lead, I'm going to start saving coupons, for sure! You are an amazing person, donating food and coupons, I don't know anyone else who does that :D

Are there certain brands you clip coupons for? Certain products? Do you look in newspaper ads to see what's on sale where? Isn't usually just cheaper to buy the store brand if they have it? (Like for canned veggies, sugar, etc)

Thanks!

 They don't have fresh produce, but some stores carry more than others. I can get some Morningstar Farms and Boca products for $2.99 compared to $5.29 at my local Albertsons. They have canned veggies, soups, snack bars (Kashi, granola, etc), some have tons of frozen meals (Amy's, Lean Cuisine, meat ones...), random baking things like brown sugar, powdered sugar, flour, vanilla, some spices, peanut butter (about $2.50 for JIF), some have soy milk, and more things I can't even remember right now. Oh, crackers, and cookies too :D Much much cheaper than my local grocery store.

Do they sell beans or whole grain products in packages? Most of what I eat is produce, so it wouldn't help me too much there.

You know, they might... I just can't remember right now. I usually buy my beans at Trader Joe's or Fresh and Easy. They sell fresh bread, one of which, last time I checked, was vegan. I could be wrong though...it's been a while since I've been shopping :p They have Kashi cereals and oatmeal. You'd really have to check your individual store though. I shop at Target for everything, I pick up grocery items when I'm there for something else :)

Hey There....Thanx for the kind words much appreciated:)

I am not a brand shopper...I dont usually buy certain products....except for dish soap and laundry detergent and baby wash...I cant use products with scents due to allergies/extreme sensitive skin...so I am always scoping deals on that kinda stuff

I always look at the sale ads that come in Sundays paper and the the grocery ads that come during the week...and put them with coupons....I always compare that sale to the store brand sometimes the sale w/ coupon is better...In a pinch like a long work week or something I may just pick up the store brand...but let me tell ya that hardly ever happens....LOL...Funny story I wanna share a few weeks back I had an awful allergy attack and needed meds and my fiancee was gonna go get me some and i wouldnt let him go till I pulled out the Cvs vs Walgreens ads to compare sales on Benadryl to put with my coupon...LOL:)

I donate my freebies and extra stuff and awesome deals...and my mail in stuff..to homeless/animal shelters.

I also donate my expired coupons to army bases...they accept them...

Happy Couponing:)

I have skin allergies too, I have to stick with a few products... mostly I just have issues with laundry detergent. I was using Tide Free for a while, Tide was what I grew up on, but I decided to try the Lavender natural detergent from TJ.... worked well, no rashes. I'm now using Method brand. Speaking of, my sister swears by this brand: http://www.charliesoap.com/products.asp She uses it on her baby's cloth diapers. I keep meaning to try it...

Also: http://www.maggiespureland.com/

So you keep coupon books for a while (newspaper ones), compare what you have to what's on sale, then go from there? :)

Comparing ads when you're sick? Now that's just too much :p

I will try your tips, I will report back. I used to think it was a waste of time, but saving $4 these days can buy my Starbucks. :) Thanks again!

I will check out those soaps...thanx soo much for the tip....much appreciated:)

I cut my coupons and keep them in my purse..you never know when you are gonna find a sale and need them...It would kill me to know that I missed a bargain cause they were at home...LOL:)

yes I compare coupons to sale ads and then go from there and compare to the store brand..and get the one thats the better deal.

Please Let me know how it goes...I would love to hear your Coupon Savings Stories.

its funny that you mentioned that you used to feel it was a waste of time...sooo many people have felt that way.. I have Converted My Fiancee..Dad..Bro...and many close friends to name a few...and now they all ask me if I have any coupons for what they are buying before they go shopping because they see how much money I am saving....and when we are all going to restaurants...I almost always have bogos and they love that..I have many savings stories about that...LOL

I agree about Starbucks..I heart Starbucks and got the best deal a few weeks ago...they had a bigg sale 50-90% off everything and I got $300.00 worth of stuff for $50.95....My Baby Bro hes 30..LOL....gave me a GC and I only paid 95 cents...whoo--hoo..

Okay one more thing My Guy wanted Madagascar 2 and that Penguin two pack dvd set...it was originally $34.99 marked down to $25.99 and I price matched another store that had a sale for $14.99...there was a $5.00 coupon in my local paper and a $7.00 rebate so I ended up paying $3.00 for the set...bigg WHOO---HOO:)

Thanx fo Listening...much appreciated:)

Have a great one...and Happy Couponing:rockon:

I LOVE restaurant coupons, I use them everytime I get them. Have you ever done the surveys that some restaurants offer? I've gotten free entrees, free desserts, and free appetizers (at El Torito Mexican restaurant, I got a $9 bowl of guacamole ). For a while, CPK had this thing where you get a coupon (unopened) for your next visit, you can't open it, the manager has to do it when you come back. We had a few 10% off coupons, we even had a 50% one that we used with my family, got about $40 off our bill. I loved CPK to begin with, but I kept wanting to go to get discounts :D

With all your coupon talk, I want a coupon book! Stupid Presidents Day :brood: I love that many grocery stores let you view the specials online, so you don't have to keep checking the newspaper.

What did you get at Starbucks?

$3 for a two pack of new movies? HOLY CRAP! To price match, you just bring the ad in from the other store?

Jenni, you are the bomb with coupons. My mommy taught me better. I just didn't listen.

How do you organize the coupons though? First I put mine in the envelope in the 'junk door' and I always forget about them or all of them in my purse.

I am super organized in this house, but not with coupons and I always fail trying to use them. lol. I forget they are there or they expired three months ago. heh.

So how do you organize them by dates or products?

Thankies for the kind words...the bomb with coupons:o.:):)

My Mom Taught me too...I just took it many steps further...LOL....My Mom Calls me Coupon Crazy in a good way...I think...LOL:)

I dont really have a system honestly I carry a bigg purse and bag for work so they are always in one of them cause you never know when you are gonna need them with you when you find a clearence or sale...it would kill me not to have them and find that sale...Okay I am a bit dramatic...hehe:) but honest.

I dont organize them honestly they are put in envelopes in my purse...I try to group the same items together but that doesnt usually work...I plan 99.9% of my shopping trips...i know the sales...how many coupons I have...the money off...ect...okay I am a bit anal about it..but thats just me hehe:)

Two Local Stores here take them 6 months past the date after that I send them to army bases and they accept them at their stores and all...have been doing that for years.

I am sorta organized about some stuff some not sooo much...I am comfy in my mess and that includes my coupons:)

Thank you! You know why I get so pissed off at myself is the CVS coupons that I didn't take advantage of. I fold them in my purse or throw them in the junk drawer. Then later I look and think, just damn!

I have no idea why this is so hard to organize for me, but it is.

My bills are perfect in order and my file cabinet, but I have no system for coupons. lol

This was one of my goals in 2009 and I suck at it!

OMG....I could have a whole thread about CVS Alone...I heart that store and their are oodles of deals to be had...I had a cashier there burst into tears waiting on me...I was stressing her out and she is single mom who needs the job and if she puts the coupons in wrong she will get fired...they had to literally pull her away from the checkstand...I felt bad for her but it was her job...plus I got my bill down from $115.00 to $45.and some change...Totally Sweet:)....Sheesh I wanna go Shopping:)

Happy Couponing:)

I am Kinda Organized in my everyday life...but my coupons..I know all about them...hehe.
