What is the best brand of vegan "cheese"? I tried Veganrella the other day and it was pretty good, although I hear Vegan Gourmet is better.

ETA: there was recently another thread asking the same question....but I'll answer anyway Teese (www.teesecheese.com/)

Judging by others' comments, I think the best vegan cheese is just no cheese at all

We've been eating Vegan Gourmet recently - and it is really good. Mild and creamy tasting - and it does kind of melt. I like it. Enough that I will even eat a piece just on its own. :lick:

I like Vegan Gourmet but I haven't tried Cheezly or Teese, based on PG's enthusiastic recommendations I'd love to try Teese but haven't seen in WF or TJ's in Manhattan.

I actually found Teese at a restaurant that I usually dine in. They sell vegan products as well. Unfortunately, I have yet to see Teese at WF. It is delicious!
I know they offer it online at Veganstore.com and veganessentials.com

I think it's time for Teese and Cheezly to fight it out. First, they will compete in melting, and then they will proceed to be grated. The last stage of the fight will be a taste comparison, judged by an objective panel of judges, formed by me and my three hypothetical sons.

There is a vegan cheese at one of my favorite diners in Manhattan called Big Nick's. It is by far the best vegan cheese I've ever tasted and worth selling my as of yet unborn children for. I have to ask them what it is.

For some reason WF wont sell any Chicago Soy Dairy products including Teese and the awesome Temptation Ice Cream, I love the Green Tea ice cream! Luckily by the studios there is a great HFS.

But I hear that Cheezly is better than Scheese.Even solidified snot from Ralph Wiggum's nose is better than Scheese ;)

Well it's okay when melted and mixed with some chopped bell peppers and garlic.

If I remember correctly, Ralph Wiggum offers his solidified snot willingly. By that standard, does it make it vegan?

Yes it is vegan and even Hamas members swear by it!

Why does everyone here seem to love cheezly? Iv tried both the mozzerella and cheddar styles and they tasted a bit like jellyfied stale supermarket own brand cheesy wotzits!
Havent yet found a cheese replaser i like, unless you cound toffuti cream cheese which i love because it reminds me of philadelphia :-)

If you like bagels and cream cheese, vegan gourmet cream cheese is the best!

I don't like any of the vegan cheeses I've tried. Cheezly fills me with horror, to me it has a very odd, sort of chemical taste.
I do want to try Teese but until it becomes available in the UK I'll stick with nutritional yeast sauce for cheesiness.
