Does anyone have anything wonderful to say about Amy's products?
They are such a weakness for me...especially their tomato soups.

I like the black bean enchilada meals for a quick lunch. I also love the lentil soup, and the pasta and three bean soup.

i have some bad things to say about them
why does their soy cheese contain dairy byproducts, why do most of the items that would be vegan contain honey???
it seems that a very low percentage of their products is vegan
but ill be nice and say.... its nice how amys clearly states what is and isnt vegan on their website

You're right. I am one of those naughty vegans who occasionally have some honey. :-/ I am now considering writing to Amy's so the vegan police don't come and arrest me!
Amy's is a great choice for people who want to eat less animal products though. My sister is not a vegetarian, but since I've introduced Amy's to her, she's definitely cut down a lot on meat and dairy. Amy's is one of the few brands of convience foods offered in our little city, which makes it easier for her since she would probably not drive into the big city for her groceries.

I've noticed that amy's keeps getting more and more vegan stuff, and they are clearly labeling them as vegan. I did think it was kinda odd that they included a tiny weenie amount of honey in a few otherwise vegan dishes...but at least theyre not labeled vegan. Im a sucker for the No-Chicken Noodle and Lentil soups...and the vegan pizza...but they kinda skimp on the veggies, so you gotta buy more.

I eat an Amy's frozen dinner for lunch at work almost every day. Usually the enchilada dinner or asian noodle stir fry. :lick:
I'm also quite fond of the rice & beans burritos, lentil soup and California burgers.

I eat Amy's now and again. I like the brand just fine. I also find the honey and soy cheese topics annoying. I'm telling you, the first company to come out with a good truly vegan "cheese" pizza and vegan peanut butter cups (I can't believe these don't already exist -- all you have to do is use dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate) will make a small fortune. If I had the means and the time, I'd do it myself!

Not to get totally off subject, (well, only for a minute) Epski, Pangea sells a peanut butter cup! I've gotten them before. See here: http://www.pangeaveg.com/cgi-bin/miva?Merchant2/merchant.mv+Screen=PROD&Store_Code=Pangea&Product_Code=406&Category_Code=otherchoc

I haven't tried many Amy's products since most of them are really expensive over here, but I like their vegan burritos, both the Bean & Rice Burrito and the Black Bean Vegetable Burrito.

You should feel grateful for that 0.5 bean bonus you got in the "6 can" ;-)

Epski...you're going to love me forever for telling you this! :smitten:
There is a vegan cheese pizza out there! My local co-op carries it. It must be new because I hadn't seen it there before last week. It's less expensive than Amy's and it was super cheezy. It was delicious!
But the bad thing is that I don't remember the brand name...grrr.
Next time I go to the co-op, I will buy another one and post the info. I'll be going sometime this week I'm sure.

Thanks, everyone. I sure hope I can find that vegan "cheese" pizza, Sally, but I've looked pretty hard with no luck, so I've given up hope. I'll just have to keep making my own with Vegan Gourmet Mozzarella. Just in case, I've subscribed to this thread to see if you come back with a name that I can search for. Thanks for doing that!
As for Newman's Own cups, they're definitely not vegan. Believe, me, I checked. :lick: Dry ones don't sound too appealing to me, but I'll give anything with a reasonable price at least one try.
I'm having an Amy's vegan Bean & Rice Burrito tomorrow. I don't like how the burrito sticks to the paper towel and tears apart after I'm done nuking it, but I shouldn't be nuking my foods anyway.

i love the breakfast burrito and shepherd's pie. actually i love everything i've tried of theirs.
i also know a few omnis who eat amy's products because they are so good. usually the pizza pockets and stuff.
when i nuke the burritos i just do it without paper towels because i was so annoyed by them sticking.
and i want to know about the vegan cheese pizza too! though i'm sure i won't be able to buy it here anyway. :(

Yeah, tofutti's vegan cheese pizza is really good if made in the oven. It's a guilty pleasure that I succumb to every once in a while.
Oh, and I do also love Amy's canned chili.
