Was introduced by a less-strict raw foodist who thought we'd be able to collaborate on a project I'm producing. He's actually got a project at GreenFest here in L.A. October 4-5. The guy gave me some great restaurant names to help me with more raw options, as I'd like to make sure at least a majority of my food is raw. Very cool.

Interpersonal contacts are still the greatest way to promote this stuff.

there is a raw food cafe that is open near my yoga studio. i really love the place. They have *the best* smoothies ever as well as TONS of raw food vegan options. But, they also have regular vegan options, vegetarian options (with rennet free, high quality organic cheeses) and omni options (with organic/biodynamic hormone free, etc meats).

anyway, the lady who owns the place is really sweet and is a raw food vegan. She's awesome. She's going to come and give a talk about raw foodism and how to eat more raw foods.

i love her french lentil sprouts! i actually order them from her, because i haven't been able to sprout myself! She's so great!

I want the website so I can check it out, if there is one please!...
I think the GreenFest to which you refer (at where your buddy has
a project) has a good website of its own if its the one I am thinking of displayed on VB quite recently....
I would love to get knowing all what goes on at this L.A festival, raw food and all! :D And howabout your pal, does he have website his own perhaps too?

Unfortunately, a lot of the restaurants he mentioned were not near me (like Huntington Beach, for example), but he did mention the following:

Juliano's -- http://www.rawrestaurant.com/

Also, Seed Live Cuisine sells their raw products at numerous farmer's markets around L.A., which I didn't know. http://seedcuisine.com/markets.php

That sounds amazing Zoe Bird. Where do you live? If you live in LA please give me the address. I would love to go!!

There are two raw restaurants around huntington, but ive never been to them so i dont know where they are. One is Au Lok and one of them is called The good mood food cafe. Au Lok may be in fountain valley, im not quite sure, but hope this helps.

Seed cuisine is also now being sold ate Erewhon (beverly blvd. east of fairfax) and the coop in Santa Monica (16 and broadway).

Also, sprout cafe on sunset, near house of blues, has a great raw salad.

beverly hills juice club (dont let the name fool you) is completely raw. It's located on beverly blvd and orlando, just east of lacienega on the south side of the street. they have smoothies, bananna mana (which is like ice cream), raw sushi (so good!) and raw hummus, Yum!! I love that place.

there are also raw food dinners with rasheed on thurs. nite, if interested ill email you this weeks menu! Thanks, juniper

Okay, so -- yeah -- this was one of them:

Good Mood Food Cafe
5930 Warner Ave.
Huntington Beach, CA (crossroad Springdale)
(714) 377-2028
rawgourmet@earthlink.net
(Owners: Ursula & Jerry Horaitis)
Deli Take-Out. Weekly Gourmet Dinners on Fridays and Saturdays. Call for reservations.

Also, Seed Live does the farmer's market at Sunset and Yucca or whatever. It's between Cahuenga and Vine next to the LA Film School. I'm going on the 27th and hope to check out Seed Live's food while picking up some local organic produce.

Oh how funny! I went to St. Joes my freshman year of college, so i was right there. Unfortunately, back then, I was much more interested in raw cookie dough than raw food!

Thanks, juniper
