This happened in the area I live.
Most recent reports indicate the man will probably only have to pay a fine.

That guy should be locked away in an institution. He's not right in the head.

Nah just chain him to a tree in the mother bear's territory. I bet she would remember him. :-/
Hey.. aren't you opposed to capital punishment? :p

That's just leveling the playing field. ;)

What an idiot! :furious: That poor little bear. I really can' t believe there are sick people like this out there. I say we track him down :sealed:, :whack: and :gun: him. I just can't believe this. "he intended to keep the cub on a leash at home to see if he could tame it before releasing it back into the wilderness with the the hope it would return for visits." I wish I hadn't read this.
"Quebec's wildlife protection squad is now investigating the abduction. If charged under the province's wildlife act, Mr. Ryan could face a $2,000 fine for possession of a big game animal without a permit."
-----------------
There's something wrong about this $2000 fine business. This moron should be charged with way more and serve a jail term and be banned from any job in the wilderness.
Unfortunately human laws are way behind in their protection of other animals. So apparently if he'd had this permit , this would have been ok?! What garbage.

Hey.. aren't you opposed to capital punishment? :p
Unless we just call it "cruel and unusual punishment." :D
I like epski's term for it. :)
What an a$$! It still shocks me how moronic and cruel some people can be.

I felt so bad for the poor little cub, struggling to catch his breath as he was repeatedly dunked under water and run over with a motorized boat thing.
It made me cry.

I couldn't even finish reading it. I HATE PEOPLE SO MUCH SOMETIMES! :wall: What makes them think they have the right to take something else against it's will? Why can't they be punished the same way as if they had kidnapped a "human"? ARGH :furious:

how very aggrivating that story is. the fact that he thought he was doing something good?!?! that is insane to me. ""If I get a chance, I'll do it again. I think a bear would make a good pet." :dunce:
WHAT?!?!?! :sign:
I DONT UNDERSTAND PEOPLE!!!! he sounds like a lonely guy, hoping it would return for visits, but it doesnt change the fact that he was beating this bear!!!
i just dont understand it at all. and the fact that they release this poor little bear so far away from his family?? so he is screwed over in two respects, having to deal with that guy beating the crap out of him, and that now he doesnt have a family. it is so sad :( BAH! stupid people
The mother bear would probably kill it if they released it too close. It lost the scent it had before.
