requires a 400 mhz processor?? windows 2000 or xp? In one computer I have a pentium 2 doing 350 mhz, and windows 98se, and in another computer, pentium 4 doing 266, and windows xp. Yet the min reqs say that the pentium 4 won't do the job? Also, 10 mb disk space -- seems like a lot. Kazaa has been annoying me because I they wouldn't allow me to connect with my slim, trim older version, and insisted that I download a newer bloated version with very few if any advantages over the old version -- just more advertisements and taking up much more disk space, and extremely confusing attached programs which make no sense to me.
Interesting it only require a dial-up Internet connection with only a 33.6 Kbps modem.
Is it working well, michael_veggie? I'm thinking of downloading it after i set up my pentium 4 and get most of my programs set up on it. This may take me a while tho.

Soilman, have you tried Kazaa Lite (http://www.softnews.ro/public/cat/10/6/10-6-25.shtml)? It's a stripped down version of Kazaa without the ads and spyware, and a few other nifty additions:
(New!) Block RIAA and other organizations from connecting, downloading
and uploading to you.
(New!) K++ default options have been changed to protect your privacy. By default:
[list]
Bad IP ranges, eg. the ones from the RIAA and others, are now blocked
automatically by K++ thanks to the PeerGuardian IP range file. K++
blocks all these IP ranges from ever connecting to you (both TCP and UDP), and
the connections are closed immediately without them getting a single bit
from you.
No-one can get a listing of ALL your files through a "Find all files from
this user" command (you're still able to share, though).
Port 1214 (aka Kazaa's port) is disabled so no-one can scan your computer
to see if you're using Kazaa K++.
Your search history isn't saved in the registry.

I haven't found anyone to talk too! So I can't test it out :(
And its strange it only goes on XP and 2000,since XP and 2000 couldn't use Kazaa Media Desktop and had to use Kazaa Lite because of spyware.

Haha. I'll give you a ring when I get it loaded and running, after I set up my new computer (not sure how long this will be tho).
Thanks for the Kazaa Lite K++ link, Fenguin. I hadn't seen any mention of it on the Kazaa web site. all i saw was the free version (2.0.2 and 2.5.1) and the ad-less paid version, Kazaa Plus v2.5. The free version claims to contain no spy-ware.
On the Kazaa Lite K++ page you provided, the link to go to the "developer's" web site doesn't work. Also, the page describes it as "enhanced with a lot of new features," rather than small and minimal and without lots of junk. It describes it as "a spyware free version" but Kazaa v2.5.1 is also described as spyware free.
2.5.1 is about 5mb; K++ is about 3.5.
It says you have to unload your previous version before loading K++ -- so this sounds like it is going to take all day, just to compare the 2 versions.
Thanks so much for posting that, Fenguin. I've never heard of it before. :)
It doesn't work for me. Maybe I should finally cave in and get winXP ;).

The coffee mug? I love coffee thanx to Nescafe Blend 43 I've managed to stay up till 5am and I'm still not tired but I have to go to sleep on the couch just before my parents wake up so they think I got off that net at midnight  and coffee keeps me awake during those horrible maths, science and english lessons, and coffee lets me pay attention in my favourite subject Japanese. Coffee is what makes the world goes round :D

What kind of spyware etc does this have attatched?
I don't trust programmes like this...
And it is made by the same people that made Kazaa.. That has LOADS of spyware...
Why don't you just use voice conversation on msn.. or AIM?
I've spoken to FafaFrappy through that!
Heh it was cool!!

Ummmm errrr it has a better name and it works for all firewalls.
Yay, the newest version of this program seemingly works for win98. Anyone care to test? (I'm finlay84 on there)
